Corporate Responsibility
UTair is fully aware of its social responsibilities to the communities where we operate – the people who we serve and who we are indebted to for the opportunities that have helped us succeed. Out of respect for this, UTair strives to achieve harmony with the interests and expectations of society at large. Our dedication to social responsibility is reflected through the various programs both within and outside the company.

The top priorities for UTair’s corporate responsibility strategy include:
  • Investing in people
  • Creating safe and stable working conditions
  • A wide and comprehensive benefits and incentives program
  • Active corporate involvement and sponsorship of charity

Investing in people through programs for professional development is in the natural interest of both the company and the employees. UTair operates one of the largest civil aviation training centres in Russia which supports all levels of training and professional development for its employees in all areas of services. The Personnel Training Centre has trained thousands of air transport industry professionals and helped engineers, pilots and mechanics earn, maintain and advance their technical certification and professional skills for a wide array of operations requiring Russian State and International licenses and certificates. In addition, UTair works in cooperation with Russian aviation academies and engineering institutions to recruit and promote the potential of the next generation of professionals into its work-study programs, helping students gain valuable experience for competitive advantage on the current job market.

UTair also believes in creating and maintaining a safe and stable working environment and promoting a healthy lifestyle for employees. UTair adheres to all Federal and regional occupational safety legislation and provides state of the art training on occupational safety hazards and accident prevention. UTair promotes employee wellness through sponsorship of fitness programs and preventative medical care available at on-site corporate facilities. The airline is also an active sponsor of medical and wellness related travel for employees and their families.

The motivational strategy of UTair involves arrange of social benefits and incentives, providing stability to the employees and their families. UTair offers a graded system of employee benefits corresponding with experience and seniority including health insurance, compensation for illness and other medical needs, and pensions. UTair supports a range of lump-sum compensation programs for special moments in life – the birth of a child, an anniversary and urgent family needs. At UTair, we believe dedication to excellence goes hand in hand with trust and support of the people that matter most.

UTair also has a unique benefit program designed specially for young, entry level professionals that provides newly hired employees with material assistance for relocation. The program provides housing and offers employees who are candidates for specialized licenses and certifications scholarship opportunities to obtain these qualifications.

Financial sponsorship and active corporate participation in local charity organizations, partnership programs and charitable programs in communities across Russia further express UTair’s deep involvement in the life of communities. The company is consistently expanding and strengthening social stability in the regions where we do business. We actively cooperate with local authorities and community representatives from business and charity organizations to address salient social problems and needs.

Typical of such involvement is UTair’s current participation in the targeted program “Cooperation,” which supports the need for low cost passenger transport connections between residential areas in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District and Tyumen with subsidized fares. Other programs include the annual provision of WWII veterans with complimentary round trip airfare to destinations of their choice, with a 30% discount for an accompanying passenger.

UTair contributes to the development of local education, culture and physical fitness through investment in partnerships with sports teams. UTair is the official carrier for the Samotlor Volleyball team, the Tyumen Football Club and the Surgut Basketball team. UTair also promotes a healthy, active lifestyle by facilitating the development of in-house athletic teams. Since 2006, funds have been allocated for numerous fitness opportunities and sporting events, including the use of fitness centers and swimming pools, football training and matches and participation in sporting competitions among Russian and foreign airlines.

We take special care that the programs we support are goal-oriented and provide the most appropriate responses to the real needs of our employees and their families, as well as the local community and society in general.
