UTair is the fifth largest Russian airline, serving more than 3.2 million passengers in 2008, with 200 daily flights to 61 destinations in domestic market as well as regularly scheduled flights on seven international routes and chartered flights to 15 international destinations.
UTair’s fixed wing fleet consists of 144 aircraft based in Tyumen, Surgut and Khanty-Mansiysk. UTair is one of the founding airlines at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow and maintains operations at Domodedovo Airport as well.
One of UTair’s priorities today is the expansion and modernization of its passenger fleet. In 2005 UTair became the first airline in Russia to begin operations with turbo-prop aircraft, bringing ATR-42 planes into operation on regional routes. In 2008, UTair began operations with Boeing 737-500 mid-range aircraft. As of today, 6 of these aircraft have been added to the UTair fleet and another 10 are expected to enter operations by 2010. With fleet expansion, added routes and other improvements, UTair expects to strengthen its position on the domestic passenger transport market, raising its share of the domestic market to no less than 10%. UTair also intends to enter new markets on domestic and international routes, increasing profitability by 10%.
