UTair Aviation has provided transportation support for United Nations peacekeeping missions since 1991. Under contracts with the UN, UTair’s helicopters have successfully performed transport operations in numerous countries, including Yugoslavia, Angola, Cambodia, Mozambique, Somalia, Western Sahara, Central African Republic, East Timor, Eritrea, Haiti and Iraq.
At present UTair continues to support transport operations for UN peacekeeping missions in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Côte d'Ivoire, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Chad as well as in the territories of Nepal and Afghanistan. UTair’s tasks include deliveries to UN mission points, passenger transport, surveillance and monitoring, VIP transport, negotiations, emergency and medical evacuation and support of special police units.
At present 62 helicopters in operation under the contracts with the UN, including 11 Mi-8T, 25 Mi-8MTV, 19 Mi-171/Mi-8AMT and 7 Mi-26 models. More than 450 highly qualified Utair specialists support operations for the UN missions.
