In the First Half of 2017 UTair Increased Passenger Transportation by 15.9%

UTair Aviation has summed up its activity in June and the first six months of 2017.

In June, UTair transported 677,837 passengers having exceeded the similar parameter of 2016 by 5% (+5% for internal and +4.8% for international destinations). Passenger traffic grew by 11.3% to 1,210,691,000 pkm, and occupancy rate increased by 2.69 p.p. to 76.4%.

Over the first 6 months of 2017, the airline transported 3,272,530 passengers, which was 15.9% more than over the same period of the last year (+12.8% for internal and +34.6% for the international destinations). Passenger traffic increased by 16.7%, to 5,327,184,000 pkm, the occupancy rate – by 4.5 p.p. to 71.5%.

In June 2017, UTair got the 2nd place by punctuality among 5 largest airlines of Russia with over 5,000 flights. According to Rosaviation agency, UTair has performed 98.4% of its 7,388 regular flights exactly on schedule.

“In 2017, the number of UTair passengers grew by 15.9%, and the aircraft number remained the same. Our results indicate that now we work more efficiently. We have increased the sales owing to our updated website and mobile application. Our website utair.ru has one of the best conversions in the industry: 18% of visitors purchase tickets. After we had launched the new version of application the increase in sales reached 300%. We have also opened 42 new destinations in the south of Russia, the Urals, Volga region and Siberia, and to European cities of Munich, Berlin, Vienna, Heraklion and Thessaloniki,” said Alexey Budnik, President of UTair – Passenger Airlines.
