Utair was named best regional airline in Russia and the CIS

2 March 2020

On 28 February, Utair was named Best Regional Airline in Russia and the CIS at the international Business Traveller Russia and CIS Awards.

The annual awards celebrate outstanding achievements in business travel, and are among the most objective in the industry, as the winners are chosen by passengers, and not the judging panel.

Utair has been a winner in the Business Traveller Russia and CIS Awards twice before, in 2016 and 2017.

"Supporting transport accessibility in the regions is one of our airline’s main priorities. Utair has one of the best developed regional destination networks in Russia, which is an important factor for passengers interested in business travel. Our flight network covers nearly the entire country. More than 60 of our routes are served by no other carriers and are available only to Utair customers", said Pavel Permyakov, Utair Passenger Airlines President.

In 2019, Utair’s passenger numbers grew by 1.8% to 7.8 million, and its passenger load increased by 3 percentage points to 83%.

Utair connects Russia’s regions with direct flights thanks to its well-developed hub system. The company has transfer hubs throughout the country, in Khanty-Mansiysk, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Surgut, Tyumen, Ufa and Yekaterinburg. Utair flies to 150 destinations in Russia and abroad, for more than 60 of which it is the only carrier.
